Beaumont Piping Fabrication has an outstanding safety record. Whether we’re on a client’s job site or in one of our shops at home, we’re dedicated and committed to the safety of our employees and those that work around us. We’re not one of those contractors that take shortcuts or cut corners on safety to meet a deadline or line our pockets. Our employees are the most significant asset Beaumont Piping Fabrication has. Without a well-qualified labor force, we’re no better than any other contractor out there. Here at BPF, we have scheduled morning safety meetings every-single-morning, no questions asked. We discuss the status of the project and what’s on the schedule for production.
We discuss the job hazards and potential safety problems that may arise from performing specific tasks. If we’re on a client site, we detail fire safety plans and fire watch. Knowing the proper safety protocol can prevent small issues from becoming massive problems or headaches later on. Beaumont Piping Fabrication employees determine where the safest path of exit is before performing work in a given area, we also utilize hot work permits, have fire watch personnel, use fire blankets, and always have two fire extinguishers available when welding or cutting. We understand that every job has inherent risks and we discuss these risks at length prior to beginning work. Different jobs require a different level of personal protective equipment (PPE). Gloves, long sleeves, steel-toed boots, high visibility reflective clothing or vests, hard hats, and safety glasses are a requirement of BPF when on any client job site.
All of our managers have been trained to MSHA 24 hour New Miner or Refresher Training for mine sites and OSHA 30 hour training classes for refineries, power plants, process plants, and other industrial sites. All hourly employees have been trained at MSHA 24 hour New Miner or Refresher Training for mine sites and OSHA 10 hour training for power plants, refineries, industrial sites and other process plants. We provide our clients with full safety program documentation upon request, and also have a very low Experience Modification Rate (EMR). Safety is no accident, and it’s a habit we impose on all employees. If we’re operating in the shop or out in the field, safety first is our motto. Beaumont Piping Fabrication is proactive in our approach to safety. We afford all employees the right to stop-work-authority. Stop-work-authority permits any employee to stop any activities that he or she feels is unsafe, to allow evaluation of the situation or surroundings.
No employee working for Beaumont Piping Fabrication is reprimanded or punished for exercising their right to stop-work-authority, and we encourage all employees to use that right to prevent a potential accident from happening. BPF is proactive in seeking the safest way to perform a job, and every environment is unique to the new employee and staff member. Our safety personnel performs an on-site hazard assessment of potential safety hazards or risks associated with-in the workplace. These potential hazards are eliminated, barricaded, or reduced by using P.P.E. such as fall-protection, respirators, and face shields to name a few.
